SUMATRA – Mandheling Kuda Mas ( R.T.O )

mandheling kuda mas is a typica varietal coffee from sumatra, indonesia, processed using the washed method. washed processing removes the fruit before drying, which tends to clarify the cup and let the bean's character come through cleanly. despite that, this coffee carries a winey quality, giving it a fermented fruit edge that sets it apart from cleaner, brighter washed coffees. roasted to rto (return to origin) level, it sits in a range suited to filter brewing, where that winey character can be appreciated without being masked by roast bitterness. a pour over or filter drip approach at moderate temperature will serve it well.
